Our Mission & Vision-The English Language Institute is a leader in English language training.
Supporting Students-The ELI conducts the Intensive English Program (IEP), which specializes in preparing students for university study in the United States; the English as a Second Language Program for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in academic programs at the university; part-time evening courses for professionals and graduate students; and programs offering English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses through UB's partnerships with universities overseas.
Supporting the University-In addition, the ELI actively supports the university’s international recruitment effort and attracts highly qualified international students to UB degree programs, helps to internationalize the larger institution and promote the cultural diversity of the campus, and plays a major role in developing and administering the university’s overseas sponsored programs.
